Andrew Hall

Andrew Hall

At age 13 Andrew had his first go on a Union Graduate lathe at Wolsingham School; in Weardale. Little did he know at the time that the impact the woodwork teacher and the lathe would have on his life two decades later.

Over the last seven years Andrew has attended virtually every show in the United Kingdom and many seminars and demonstrations. He has attended four Loughborough seminars, Ripon symposium, Craft Supplies seminars, 2006 and 2008 Guild of Irish Wood turners seminar.

Andrew's belief is that no matter how proficient you become at a subject there is always room for improvement and learning plus the discussion and camaraderie between woodturners is outstanding.

Today Andrew has founded and is chairman of Wear Valley Woodturners and has been involved in two successful bids for the club, of which 50% of the money had been used to train members with international woodturning demonstrator Jimmy Clewes.

"I am a goal orientated person and I put in place a strategy to return to running my own business when we moved into our current home with emphasis on more woodturning and woodworking associated employment.

"I am delighted that I will have the opportunity to demonstrate at Alexandra Palace in the Spring of 2010 and look forward to meeting people at the show."
